Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Also would there be a huge difference between 200mm & 300mm in terms of zoom. The camera already has a 18mm-55mm lens. €300 is really pushing over my limit but same time I don't want to buy lens if zoom not much good.

Of the two you listed.. the 55-300 is probably a better lens, because it's still only 5.6 at 300mm. There wouldn't be a LOT of difference in image quality.
The amount of the zoom is another 50% deeper than the 200mm lens.. so it's pretty significant.. but not earth shattering.

If what you already have is the "stock" 18-55mm Pentax lens that came with the camera, you might actually consider replacing it with a better piece of glass. It's not a great lens.. something like this would be a bit better, but might be too much money:

Also.. if the person receiving the gift isn't amazingly into the whole photography thing.. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

If they are really looking for zoom more than anything else, then you might look at 18-200mm which would start where the current lens does, but get a lot deeper.. and the person it's for wouldn't have to switch lenses as often. (You do lose a little bit of sharpness and low-light ability.)

This wouldn't get as WIDE as the ones you've looked at already.. but would still get reasonably wide.. and the person it's for could change the lens to get wide shots.. but it gets to 300mm instead of to 200mm

There are lots of options.. good luck finding something that the giftee will enjoy!
