    if you were willing to consider alternative to AA you could look at http://www.breakdowncover.ie/
    there are much less expensive, however there is a difference insofar as the coverage is on the car and not the person

    I'd rather stick to AA due to their sterling reputation, so I'd rather not switch providers - thanks for the suggestion though.


    any other ideas on availing of cheap AA cover?

    AA membership is thrown in for free with a full services at Advance Pitstop.
    I'm not sure how good their service is though.

    They have a special Offer to coincide with the bad weather probably - €30 Off on the AA site offer ends Sunday
