Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Despite all the excitement and celebration the job is only half done though. We will probably need to win at Northampton next week to stay up.(Hopefully though the Saints will be keeping their powder dry for the play-offs) Every fecker at the bottom is playing so well at the moment.

Being a fan of both teams I'm not too bovvered but Saints is the rugby, Cobblers is footy.:)

Apologies of course you're right - only excuse is that it had been a long day duly corrected

    Nearly reported Greendom for trolling!

Both in the play-offs, just different sports! Personally not a fan of the Saints, but would be nice to see them actually go the final yards to win the league, but its only egg rolling.

I think Northampton will beat Barnet (unusually confident), couple of lads coming back from injury, but also think that Wimbledon will only get a draw and Dagenham and Redbridge playing York gives Barnet a good chance of escape.

If Boothroyd hadn't been so negative for so long away from home I think we would have got up automatically, but have to celebrate a season where we weren't looking over our shoulder at relegation. Especially when you see what happened to Stockport County this season.

The big games will be the football play offs, teams all decided, either Rotherham or Cheltenham, Burton Albion, Bradford and the Cobblers. Hopefully if the Cobblers get back to Wembley we can bring as many as we did back in the Atkins days of 96/97 when we beat Cardiff in the Semis and Swansea in the final, whatever happened to them teams? We had about 35,000 in a crowd of 46,000 or something. Took even more the following year against Grimsby when we got beat. Would love to try and get over for at least one of the play off games.

Hopefully a Bradford Cobblers final? What a difference a season makes! Oh, and if we do have to play Bradford, can we make sure Nahki Wells gets a bottle dropped on his foot or something, the man can't help scoring against the Cobblers.

Unless Wimbledon choke in the last few minutes, looks like the Cobblers are sending Barnet down, along with Aldershot.

Brentford missed a penalty to get promoted then Doncaster went down the other end and scored so its now them that go up, crazy game

Commiserations to Barnet and Aldershot, relegated from the football league.

That has to be a killing blow to Brentford - even for the playoffs.

Sickening way to blow it in the last minute all right, no one said what the penalty was given for, so I wonder if justice was done. Hard division to get out of League One.

Yeah, crazy finish in that game. Doncaster win the league as it happen, Bournemouth only drew.

Looks like Dean Saunders made the wrong decision, probably going to pass his old club going the other way.

    Northampton v Cheltenham @ Sixfields Stadium. 7.45 Kick-off

Northampton have captain Kelvin Langmead back available for the first leg of the League Two play-off semi-final with Cheltenham.
Centre-half Langmead has missed seven games with a knee injury but could return to the side at Sixfields.
Striker Clive Platt (calf) and winger Ishmel Demontagnac (hamstring) are also back in contention.
Cheltenham manager Mark Yates has no fresh injury concerns with Paul Benson back from an ankle problem.
    BBC

Obviously hoping for a Cobblers win, outsiders though (maybe that will do them a favour) 13/10 to win tonight. Captain back after a lay off with knee injury could be massive if he's fit, scored a load of useful goals as well as being our stand out Centre-half.

    Bradford v Burton Albion @ Valley Parade. 7.45 Kick-off

Bradford City will be without defender Andrew Davies for the first leg of their League Two play-off semi-final against Burton Albion.
Davies is serving a one-match suspension, while winger Kyel Reid is doubtful with a groin injury.
Burton will be missing Lee Bell, who starts a three-game ban, and are almost certainly without Bell's fellow midfielder Jack Dyer (ankle).
Manager Gary Rowett has an otherwise fully-fit squad to choose from.
    BBC

If Burton get anything out of this I fancy them to get to final, but playing in front of big crowd at Bradford who's cup record is fantastic this year might put the frighteners on them!

Went to a Burton Albion match there a few weeks ago and even though they lost enjoyed it, I'll look out for their results and hopefully get over to see them again.

Play-offs tonight for the mighty Burton. BREWERS!!!

Brilliant performance so far by Burton. 3 class goals. Lucky not to get a red card though.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 10,325 ✭✭✭✭Dozen Wicked Words

Poor following from Cheltenham, have only brought 650 away fans, making a decent bit of noise though. Cobblers sold out their away leg allocation in a day.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,630 ✭✭✭mrsoundie

2nd leg syndrome, I would hazard that they think this is a score draw or a win and then catch the cobblers at Whaddon Road

Yeah, probably right, and considering how dire the Cobblers have been on their travels they have a point.

And the Cobblers great at home, not so good away.
