Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I thought he was going to open up and curl it around Howard with his right foot, that is what he normally does,

What he did do was baffling and I really don't think it should have been a penalty, a Red Card coupled with that penalty would have been as unfair a decision as I have seen.
Ya tricky decision definitely not a red I can understand why the ref gave it though although Howard appeared to be worse off after that challenge or whatever it was I thought he would of comfortably put that away lack of confidence?

Nicky flicks it past Howard, goes to go round him, twigs that hes not going to make it and checks his run into Howard.

    lack of confidence?

Surely must be, I don't think he had intentions to try get Howard sent off ahead of a goal, that is just the way it panned out and he was left with nothing else to do other than fling himself into Howard.

A confident Anelka should/would have easily finished that from the position he was in.

When did that westlife guy start playing football?

    wikipedia wrote:

    Football career

Byrne was a footballer who played for Home Farm F.C. and St. Kevins Boys F.C. in North Dublin.[1] He became a professional football player, and joined Leeds United as a goalkeeper in 1995, and was a squad member of the FA Youth Cup winning team of 1997[2]

He played for Leeds for two years, leaving when his contract expired in June 1997. He played in a reserve game for Scarborough F.C. and in a trial game with Cambridge United before returning to join Dublin club Shelbourne. He then signed for Cobh Ramblers playing 11 games, then St. Francis F.C., all in Ireland's League of Ireland.[3]

On 14 May, 2009 Nicky was a substitute for a Liverpool F.C. Legends XI that played against an All Star XI in a Hillsborough Memorial match to mark the 20th anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster. All the proceeds from the match went to the Marina Dalglish appeal.

He represented the Republic of Ireland at U15, U16 and U18 levels

If you mean as a professional it was 1995 with Leeds.

Shocking so far this half! Everton players are getting into the chelsea box far to easily, really need to track back a lot more effectively!

That was a sore one for Cech,

but Terry sent Cahill off balance, it was not dirty!

Terry over reacting didn't help matters.

There's no way that was intentional.

Cahill should have knocked terry the f*ck out!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,562 ✭✭✭✭yabadabado

not dirty by Cahill ,he was off balance and wasn't looking.if did try to do cech he would have left his foot out.Terry overreacting.

Terry needs to learn how to shut up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,153 ✭✭✭everdead.ie

You know if Cahill wanted to he could of gone down after that by Terry and he would of been off.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,513 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Crinklewood

You would think that Terry would have sympathy for other players slipping in the penalty area.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,562 ✭✭✭✭yabadabado

Ramires on for Anelka.looks like Chelsea are happy to try to hold out for 1-0.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,957 ✭✭✭The Volt

If Terry wasn't a footballer he'd be leading the bloody national front.

    Co-commentator is an idiot.
    ..................

Everton make it all so hard for themselves the way they attack when they have the ball. The midfielders don't show for the ball nearly enough and just run blindly forward leaving whoever has the ball isolated. If they all just calmed down a bit and took some time to build their attacks they would be a much better team. It's Moyes's biggest flaw as a manager imo. They've still got a good chance of scoring though and Chelsea aren't showing much composure this half.
