The wife took my car to go shopping earlier today and when she comes back the radio will NOT turn off even after the key has been removed. I also checked nearly 90 minutes later and it is still on. Also the display will not show the radio station or any changes when moving between stations or the CD etc. It however does show the time and when you flick between the settings ie distance to empty etc). Clicking on the on/off button will not do anything either.

The manual for the radio that came with the car is no use and does not show anything that can help.

    HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Moisture methinks. Is it a cassette unit? If it is, get some silica gel bags (You know the ones that come with electronics and say do not eat on them), and shove them into the cassette hole only so far that you can pull them out again.

If it isn't, find a way to get it out, and take the cover off it, then fill it up with uncooked rice and leave overnight in a hot press or somewhere similar.

No it isnt the cassette version, CD only (not multistack either).

Not sure moisture is to blame as the other bits that do show are absolutely fine in the display. Would moisture cause the unit to not turn onn & off??

Yup. This cold weather is causing moisture in the air to freeze pretty quickly and it sticks to anything glass/metal.

Firstly, pull the fuse to avoid draining your battery overnight.

It's fiddly but easy enough to take out the radio, you just need something to push into the release holes on the head unit, a couple of small Allen keys worked a treat for me.

Also, make sure the heater is switched to take in fresh air (not recirculating stale damp air) and keep the air-con on when driving to help dry out the cabin.
