Expect light rain in Dublin as the band hits, however a transition to snow is quite possible dew-points permitting. If snow falls it'll most likely be of the wet, slushy type that melts quickly. Also expect lower precipitation totals over Dublin, troughs like this usually lose steam when they hit Dublin. (I think)

It is disappointing to see the front is organising itself as it pushes further south east.
Unfortunately it then intends to get stuck over us.

I read that as rain, sleet ,eventually snow then freezing fog to complete the picture with HORRIBLE road conditions later

The feature is a small low, winds are coming slight from the east in coastal NI now turning ligther stuff to sleet, the stuff further south however should have no difficulty turning to snow and staying as snow until at least 6am when it will probably fizzle out as it turns to sleet and rain before a harsh frost Tuesday night;)

RTE say on their website that Dublin will have no more snow.

Ya it seemed like a crazy statement to make. I wonder sometimes who writes the rte news.

Almost certainly for the western areas of Dublin, city centre - touch and go, it will be messy though as there is a hard freeze on the roads.

interesting, wind appears to be slightly E/N/E here in Dalkey (judging from tree movement)...dun laoghaire harbour confirms this http://www.dlharbour.ie/weather/index.php ...colder air starting to filter through?

Gerry Flemming was on the news at 1pm today saying no more snow for Dublin for the next couple of days. This statement contradicted ME's forecast on it's own website? I think this is where RTE was getting that statement from.

drove from longford out to strokestown snowing thwe whole way out but went from sleety to proper snow in sections. almost horizontal so very awkward to drive in and scramogue cross is quite tricky. be careful ot there. still going strong too and has been around 2 hours now.
