I was just wondering what the name is of fifth year students who sit outside the exam centre, while the junior/leaving cert. exams are ongoing. I believe that they bring tea to the invigilators during the exam, aswell as escorting students to the bathroom etc. I was thinking of applying for a job as one in my school next summer!

If anyone has any info, or has been one before, i would love to hear it! Thanks:)

I was one last year you get paid 6 - 7 euro if you are under 18 and 7-8 if you are over per hour. But that will probably be one euro less this year due to the cut in the minimum wage.

As you said you just sit outside make tea bring it to them and bring students to the toilet. You also have to correspond with the principle, teachers involved etc.

To be honest if you can get another job it is not that brilliant but it is easy money if you get it. I probably would have prefered to try and get another job because is all you can really do is read books or study.
so if you like reading/studying go for it..... plus it would be brill to do it since there will be few jobs next year!

You normally apply through your school. There were so many applicants in our school that they decided to do a lottery.

    Hope ya get it! :D

an exam attendant or something of that effect. i did it three years ago now, might have actually been 4 at this stage. anyway, it was a good job but it is amazingly boring. you will never be this borded in your whole life but for the money it was worth it. just bring some books with you.

Ya I did it too. Easiest money I ever made. In my school anyway you're allowed to bring in a PSP or labtop or whatever so long as its silent. You have to turn a blind eye to the cheatin tho!
You apply to the teacher thats over it, in my school there was a notice for it anyways, and the teacher chose from the 50 or so applicants.

I did it last year, it's fairly ridiculous. I got paid 6.06 (minimum wage for under-18's) and it was facking sweet. The worst part is enduring the extraordinary boredom and pretending you'd rather play cards with your comrades when you'd rather be a complete loner, sitting back, closing the eyes and listening to the iPod. Tough work.

It'll probably be around 5.40 or something an hour with with new minimum wage, which kinda sucks tbh, but it's still worth it for bare minimum work. Ask your principal or vice principal or something about it. Don't be afraid to ask!

I read several books, played playstation, and sat around. It was great!

Went to see Muse in Wembley during the LC (Got someone to cover me for a day) and bought a few guitar pedal with the money.

Came out with 300 or so euro.
