Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Oooo unlucky Johnson!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,328 ✭✭✭✭ctrl-alt-delete

The delivery of the crosses has been pretty poor for Villa, how many have landed comfortably in Reinas hands,

Good work from Johnson, straight at Friedel though.

Ok Roy, come on now make some changes. Gametime for Jova and Cole please!

When liverpool are losing its the managers fault, but when they're winning its all about the players:rolleyes:

I'll give Hodgson credit, Meriles looks to be a great signing. He's pulling the strings in midfield alongside Lucas who offers him the protection he needs there.

However I get the feeling that their partnership is more one of circumstance than design and when Gerrard is back, Meriles will go back to being wasted on the wing.

Yeah, it's very boring thread al right.

Let's make stuff up to light the fire on it.

Mad Men's Don Draper : What you call love was invented by guys like me, to sell nylons.

This is what a football team with no midfield looks like.

The Greek to make it 4?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 27,349 ✭✭✭✭super_furry

Downing is absolutely anonymous. You wouldn't know he's playing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,146 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

Ah come on Roy, not Aurelio, pop on a few attacking options and keep the pressure on! Jova up top for Ngog or Babel, and Cole for Kuyt please!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

Maxi off to thaw out, Aurelio on.

Well, when the only reason we are playing our best players in their best positions is because of injury it's hard to give the manager credit for being some tactical genius.

The big Greek so close again. What a signing he is.

    so close

Should be 5 or 6 to nil. Villa have been atrocious.

Glad to see Babel getting a start and scoring. Maybe he should get a run in the team

Joe Cole on for Dirky, there ~rebel~

Should be 5 or 6 to nil. Villa have been atrocious.

In fairness though, Liverpool have been good. Not great, but close to very good.

    The third goal was Arsenal-esque.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,146 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

good stuff, 13 or so minutes for Cole, now Jova too please, for NGog, so Babel can see what it feels like to be on the pitch at both the start AND end of a game.

I'm sorry but Lucas has been fantastic for us this season. If he's sold this January i'll be livid. Most improved player in our squad if not the league.

    Shelvey, not jovanavic please Roy

Been one of the best Liverpool players with ease this season. If Hodgson's even thinking of selling him, then that will confirm everything I fear about him.

They've been pretty bad but in fairness Liverpool have been class tonight.

Edit: Clap clap for the Greek.

My, Villa have sunk really fast since MON left.

    Relegation battle at this rate!

Good to see Pool getting their act together a little. Hope they kick on (bar against United), I miss the banter and its a class club.

One concern tonight and for a while now, Richard Dunne...probably our third or fourth best player for Ireland and really looks like he's struggling this season

Just look at the teams they have been putting out in recent weeks versus what their best team is.. Sort of says it all really.

Have to say I agree with that, even when Liverpool have been crap, he's usually done well.

Well he was part of Houlliers team that won the Champions League after all. Must want to say hello to the old boss.

And many on here still say O'Neill is not a good manager

he left 5 days before the season unexpectidly and too his staff with him, then Villa were hit by an injury nightmare. Our form is bad but I really dont think that is down to the manager

Great drive from Lucas there, haring back to make a well timed tackle to cut out the counter.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,337 ✭✭✭✭monkey9

Wow, that would have been an utterly brilliant goal.

    Nearly a lovely goal.

Your experienced players are playing no better, if not worse than the younger ones. Worrying sign!

Villa making us look like Barca tonight.
    Well Arsenal anyway.:)

Brilliant run Johnson, looks like a man possessed.

That counter attack was pure Manchester United, great to watch.

Can't believe how poor Downing is. Given the big transfer chase for him, he's been absolute rubbish any time I've seen him for Villa.

balls, better control from Ngog and that was a stunning goal!

Come on Pepe, hold out! 100th clean sheet.

Villa's player of the season and top scorer. Poor tonight like the rest.

Ooooooh, yes he was (bit of panto). Sh1t in august, sh1t in september, a disgrace against northampton. Woke up towards the end of october.

tbh this season he has been one of the few who have actually preformed how we would expect them to (talking about established players) but in this match he has been dire like virtually the entire side.

No positives of any kind, shocking.
