Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

What's the likelihood that I can take my DSLR into the 02 tonight for the Arcade Fire gig?

    Highly unlikely.

Did you search for just such a thread before posting this one? You'd have seen several similar threads where the OP was advised against bringing their DSLR.

For the benefit of those searching through past threads in the future... if that makes sense :)

I went to the LG arena in birmingham a few months back and had a small centon bag with camera body and 3 fairly light lenses.
The security guy said i could bring in the camera with a lens attatched but that was the height of it and they would give me a ticket with a reference number so i could collect the remaining lenses at the end. I would have had to go along with this if not for my mate having a press pass and coming over and taking them in for me.

Also for smaller events i usually just get my gear bag checked out as per normal security procedures.

So usually, no, its really not worth the hassle unless you make prior arrangements.

    Thanks guys.

Turns out that I skipped right through security and wasn't searched, but didn't bring it based on your advice.

Also I think I'll learn my trade at smaller venues first.

    Thanks :)

unless you were up the very front, there would have been no trade to have been learned at the O2 anyway.
