Online tracking showed a scan at the Oldbury hub in UK on the 12th at 17.49hrs, got call this morning from my local DPD depot that they had arrived.
I made several enquiries with Eiretyres by email, all were replied to within 24 hours. Only comment i would make is that there website would not accept our Irish VAT no. for no apearent reason.

Edit: I would check with DPD as I just checked my tracking no's and it still only shows the hub scan in Oldbury whilst they are on my car...

    Six Days. Not too bad!

Now that I've got them, can anyone recommend a handy fitter in Dun Laoghaire/Deansgrange/Stillorgan/Monkstown area ?

    Mobile would be ideal.

    Cheers!

Got mine today, ordered them on the 2nd of December.

Delivered by GLS, Fair f**ks to the Cork depot, tyres landed in Cork depot this morning and I had my tyres before 9.30am, out in the sticks.

But a word of warning, my contact number had not been printed on the delivery. Eiretyres or GLS europe's fault ?
Good job I was tracking the delivery and a few phone calls sorted it out.
    Nice people in Cork GLS.:)

I ordered on the 2nd, it looks like Eiretyres didn't book GLS untill the 8th and then GLS didn't collect my tyres untill the 13th, they landed in the UK on the 14th, Dublin on the 15th and Cork this morning.

GLS fault or the design of the labels. Mine came with DPD a while ago and my number was on the labels.

Following this, and emailing various tyre places, Willie Mears in onthespottyres said he'd fit them for 20 euro a corner.

In the end I got them done locally, but don't know if it was "official" or not so can't publish details.

Well, for those around Galway, AB Tyres in Abbeyknockmoy will fit tyres for a 5'er per tyre. They have mobile trucks, too, but I'd say that would cost more.

Most tyre places are a 10'er per tyre, but yes, these guys are good value. They also do alloy repairs at decent prices and all sorts of other stuff.

Anybody know anywhere around Ballyfermot/Clondalkin who wont charge an arm and a leg for fitting?

sorry for reviving an old post !

I ordered my 4 tyres from them, payment ok (despite issues with the IE VAT on their site).Payment taken from my account, received email with tracking number, all ok and happy so far !

However, fun began a week later, when on the DPD tracking site, the last line showing for the past week "Hub scan in Oldbury(GB)"... i wondered that it cannot take more than a week to ship it from there... here !!
Called my local branch, asked to call International dept of DPD in Athlone 0906420510.
Some staff member told me that sometime, those tyres are shipped "bare bone" and only a simple label is applied to them, and possible label went off... therefore my tyres at the moment can be sitting gathering dust in a corner of their warehouse and no one knowing nothing about it!!

So,quite shocked of their delivery method !!
I know i've saved hundreds but still expecting something better !!
I don't want some tyres that may be damaged or can it be that i receive 4 diferent tyres sizes !? :)
Why DPD haven't made contact with me or with supplier, they must know where is it coming isn't ? There are 4 individual boxed tyres,is a simple matter of logic to aplly to find what's all about it ??
Or,they just keep quiet and let the customer to call their insurance department !??

Anyone been through this process, any help appreciated...

    Thanks.

I've ordered a lot of tyres online and they never, ever come boxed.

Have you tried calling them about the delay?

    thanks.

called eiretyres, but once they shipped from thier warehouse and DPD tracking number passed, they are not held repsonsible.
i wasn't aware of the barebone delivery either !
in fairness a tyre here cost €230 while there is half the price.multiply by four..

DPD staff said they will check the make and model of the tyres in their UK warehouse !
wondering how do they do that ? Is there a big container with the "lost" items section !?? :)

So,if i haven't made the call today,i could be waiting 'till next year !??
I'm not the only and / or first one ordering tyres and the shipment to run through their systems ...

Not much help to you but I bought off eiretyres before and delivery took the bones of a working week as they are a German site and the tyres come from there afaik. I have ordered many tyres from camskill.co.uk and besides being cheaper than eiretyres delivery only takes 2 working days as they are UK based. In fact I had to order one tyre a few weeks ago on a Tuesday and it was delivered on the Thursday morning. Never had an issues with delivery and tyres arrived with no packaging on them other than a shipping label on the tyre.

I also would not accept from them that once they leave their site that they are not responsible. Delivery charge was included in the price you paid eiretyres so imo they should be chasing it up at their end where the tyres have gone as they haven't been delivered to you. If you get knowhere then I would be ringing my credit card company and see if they can recover payment as you haven't receive the goods. Your credit card should have insurance to recover these type of situations.

I once ordered from camskill.co.uk and four days later my tyres still hadn't arrived. Previously they arrived the next day. Camskill followed up with the courier company and said that the tyres seem to be missing. They then shipped a replacement batch.

Eiretyres take longer to deliver than camskill so it might take them a few days longer to accept that something has gone wrong and to put in the effort of following up. Stick with it.

Called DPD in Birmingham and they acknowledged is a "local" delivery DPD related issue.
The goods arriving from EU passes through their international UK-wide hub in there and from there...goes everywhere else ! Why not Germany to Ireland directly !?? Doesn't make sense to me...

Asked to send details of the order and they will run an internal investigation !
    Very peculliar...

I'd imagine they'd have a lot more UK business so its cheaper to send it to UK and then on to Ireland, considering the population of Ireland is the same as a smaller UK city.

No word from DPD yet (they asked for 24 hours waiting decision time) BUT got an email from EireTyres:

    Dear Mr. ,

We have ordered replacements for you. Your new order number is RD 1491xxxx.1 and the items will be dispatched as soon as possible.
You will not receive a refund for the undelivered items as we will not be charging you for the replacements. We are sorry for the delay and we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

It does make sense now,but if the delivery goes through UK...what can happen !?? In the worst case DPD scenarios, i'll get a spare set for my other car !! :)

Sorry to revive this again but anyone ever have an order cancelled, i'm wondering how long it will take to get a refund? I presume they must have been out of stock .
