TaxCalc is a simple Irish PAYE and PRSI tax calculator available on the App Store for the 2010 tax year. The calculator allows you to estimate your take home pay based on your total pay, pension contribution and personal circumstances.

TaxCalc allows you to calculate your weekly, fortnightly, monthly or annual net take home pay.

With TaxCalc you will be able to see a breakdown of all your deductions from your gross pay and estimate how much a pay increase or deduction is going to impact on your pocket.

Please note that all figures should be considered estimates and you should speak to the payroll person in your organisation or your tax advisor if you require a more detailed analysis.

TaxCalc works with iPad, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G, the original iPhone, and iPod touch.

I have an Excel spreadsheet (2003 and 2007 formats only) available for download at:

    http://taxcalc.eu/monthlyss

[The 2007 version is a slightly more feature rich version.]

There's also an online Java tax calculator which covers most typical scenarios at:

    http://taxcalc.eu

Both of these calculators will be updated this evening some time after the budget details are announced.

I've uploaded the new 2011 Excel calculator at http://taxcalc.eu/monthlyss

I've checked it for private sector employees against the Budget annexes and it seems accurate [slight discrepancies at incomes of 100K = per annum but less than €1 per mnth :-)]

I'll check it for public sector employees but there were some PRSI rule changes the details of which I haven't been able to check.
