as far as i know, your student scratch drive is only accesible from the premises of your own college campus, i.e. not accesible online

Not strictly true. At least for the school of computing domain. Get yourself a netsoc account and I am sure access can be arranged. However, I DO NOT condone questionable activities. Use it sensibly.
