Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Removing tags on VW Golf

    Hello clever people of boards,

I bought a '00 1.4l golf last week, one problem I have with it is the previous owner thought it would look 'cool' to put GTI badges on the front and back

The one on the front will come off handy enough, but the ones on the back are stuck on (with glue or whatever). I was just wondering if you guys know any tricks to removing them without damaging the paintwork...

I reckon you can heat it with a hairdryer to loosen the glue up, and try to get under the badge with a blunt narrow plastic implement (bank card etc.)

Hair dryer and dental floss. Heat it up and put the floss in the gap.

This man speaks the truth. Have done the same thing on my own car and it worked a treat :)

    cheers for the replies lads!

will this leave any major discolouration? and will the remaining glue just peel off if i use a bank card or something of the like when it's heated up?

Congrats on the purchase, I have the 1.4 as well, there are ways of removing the black residue that is left behind. You can use some sort of adhesive remover or try tar remover but that might not work as well.Might be worth our while going diesel soon with the increases,:( I was giving the SDI some seruious thought today!!

Use a bit of petrol/WD40 after to get the remaining stuff off
