The one day I didn't check the blog til after 7 (yesterday) and twas my area that was hit!! Typical!

Anyway, it seems they're reducing the severity of the pressure reductions over the weekend, which is good for people that are being constantly affected as they'll have somewhat better pressure during those hours. They'll be reviewing this on a daily basis.

    For this evening:

Water Off Notice 16th December 19.00-07.00
    Sallynoggin - Kill Avenue
    Marley Grange
    Monkstown (part)

    Pressure Reduction Notice
(Some properties in the areas will have no water for the period whilst most will experience a noticeable reduction in pressure.)
    Blackrock
    Dundrum
    Milltown
Foxrock – Stillorgan –Ballyogan - The Gallops -Merville
Rathmichael - Shankill Area - Ballyman
    Glenageary
Ralahine – Wyattville- Shanganagh Vale, Watsons, Pottery Road
    Sandycove
    Dalkey (Village area)
Sandyford - Stepaside - Leopardstown Heights

    EDIT
Water Off - Burst pipe in Pearse Villas & Rochestown Park 16th Dec 2010 - updated 17.00
Due to a burst pipe in the area - Pearse Villas and Rochestown Park will be without water this evening 17.00.

The water will be restored once this repair has been completed. It is hoped that water will be restored by midday 17th December 2010.

anybody here in Kimmage? I haven't had hot water since before christmas, even when they have been turning the water back on.... any ideas?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,429 ✭✭✭✭star-pants

I think Kimmage comes under SouthDublin CoCouncil, rather than DLRD, so maybe this blog would be helpful http://www.sdcc.ie/index.php?option=com_content&task=blogsection&id=17&Itemid=86
Also if you have no water and it should be back on - have you checked with your neighbours if they have water? & have you checked around the outside of your house for any burst pipes?

edit - just reread & you say you've not had *hot* water.... have you got cold water running into your house? Would it be something to do with your heating/immersion as to why you've no hot water?

So you don't have any water when it's turned back on? Just you said you'd no hot water. I would ring up your areas water line, there's usually a number listed in the phone book under your CountyCouncil & enquire, they'll be able to let you know if there's any work in your specific area.

Regarding water today in DLRD, it's similar to yesterday with the areas that are being turned off / reduced pressure - so just have a quick look at the blog to check.

yea, just no hot water when its on. The landloard is going to take a look, he seems to think its trapped air or something. I've been looking at that site, nothing mentioned about my area :(

Well if there's cold water, then it could be something with the boiler side of things, regarding where/how the water is heated. Best get the landlord to get someone to look at it.
I would ring up your local area county council, they should have a water maintenance number that you could ring & check.

I *think* Rathmines falls under SDCC, if so check out their Twitter or I'm sure you can find a contact number in your phone book under the relevant county council if you feel it's something wrong.

Monkstown Water Supply Update Sat 8th Jan
We regret that the water supply remains off this evening in the Monkstown area due to on-going repairs to the watermain, which will be completed tomorrow, Sunday 09/01.

To facilitate residents we are maintaining a standpipe outside No 8. St Johns Park, Monkstown from which water may be taken if necessary.

Please note however that this water should be boiled before use.

Your patience and co-operation as we complete these essential works is much appreciated.
