That could be interesting. Maybe they can divert some people on a long journey. I think it would be good if it is targeted at those passing through, rather than locals.

I attended a presentation at DLS recently. The architect over the project went through the whole thing and I must say it's impressive. I would love to see it get passed.

At the very least it would help ease the traffic congestion in the mornings and would be a hell of a lot safer plus it would provide top class sporting facilities.

Good Idea wellbuty and a great piece of information..

Off Topic here but I wouldn't have much faith in De La Salle management following through on those plans if the last week was any thing to go by

De La Salle collage management could make a start by clearing or at least try and clear some of the ice that is all over the school grounds. They had a week off school and never as much as made an attempt to clear the entrance road from water street. Surely they have a caretaker or two, or could have even organised a few teachers for an hour or 2 while they were off to try and make the place some way safe like the rest of the schools did. There was a little done this morning when I was there but looked like they had the kids out doing it as it didn't look orgainised

Pennys are looking to knock the hotel they bought there last year, and extend the store into it.

The Tesco stuff is about their old plan about knocking the shop. The council said that the store they wish to build, must be built first. Now Tesco are asking again, can they build the restaurant first and the store later.

    I think that's excellent news.

I phrased the Tesco plan incorrectly, so revised.

Indeed it is, they bought it last year and the hotel closed up. Rumours initially that BT2 were going there, but nope, Pennys are taking it all over.

Brendan McCann objected if memory serves me correctly!

seems so ridiculus, i know the hotel has been doing nothing, but it is a relatively new building, and now to knock it?

    Surprise! eh?
