    hi
have a upc wireless setup in the living room via the tv cable ( i think)

ive been told that there is an ethernet connection in another room in the house, which is running out to a shed.

whats the best way to connect these?
was thinking of running an ethernet cable off the upc modem box, into this connection in the other room, dunno if it will work and also its a fair distance, and dont really want to have cables snaking through the house..

can i connect a router to this outside connection and how does it connect then back to the upc modem in the living room?

    thanks..

It would work assuming the cabling is sound and it's the simplest option. Try it out - you can always tidy up the cables later. Distance isn't an issue unless you're talking about 100m+. In the shed, connect the new router's WAN port to one end of the ethernet cable and at the other end plug it into one of the LAN ports on the UPC router.
