Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

All this bank bailout money would be better spent on the environment, it just seems like it's going into a black hole at the moment. Actually at this stage all the money could be better spent on a top class political assassin to solve all our problems.

We're in Ireland...just walk into your local TD's office and do it yourself, you are unlikely to actually be caught TBH. That's the problem with this country, people forgot how to DIY.

Shocking stuff, very sad and very emotional.

I can see why people are against, some genuinely see it as a failed system, it is the posters on this thread who'd also be the first to shout, slash Social Welfare that don't give a b*llocks about those children. So while you are genuine, there are a few crocodile tears on here.

You seem to have mis-read something here.
Everybody in this thread is upset that the govt. are sending off 23m to another country, without any detailed explanation as to what it is for...whilst, back in Waterford, two 5 year old children have been found routing in bins for food.

Nobody is talking about social welfare.

A couple of things. 1) we're not rich. It's borrowed money we're sending.

I was just wondering where Bono and Geldof were, surely they could cross the globe requesting "drop the debt"?

Meanwhile back in Ireland as we send borrowed Euros abroad.........
A new women's refuge in Dublin is turning away two in every five women seeking help because its accommodation is full.
Viva House in Dublin 15 has accommodated 63 women and 112 children since it opened last June.
A spokesperson for Sonas Housing, which runs the refuge, said cuts to the social welfare budget could not come at a worse time.
Sharon Cosgrove said: 'Studies show that in a time of recession domestic abuse, particularly financial abuse, can increase.'

That just pisses me off, that €23million could be used for given homeless people shelter, warmth, food and clothes.

Global warming? C'mon, this planet cools down itself etc. Its a system that has been going since this planet was created..
If they stopped cutting down forrests at the rate they did/do and put a cap on emissions years ago we wouldnt be speeding up the process. They have no problem making us all pay for the problems we didnt even cause.

Nobody is talking about social welfare.

Very conveniently for them. Anyway, the posters I'm talking about are just attention seekers, so I'll take away the fuel.
