Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Sound issues

    Hi,

Having a problem with the sound on my DELL Xps 8100. I've had it since Feb/March and the sound has always been way too low. I've put up with it since day 1 but now I'm just sick of it and wondering if anyone can help. I only really use it for Flight Sim and I have my laptop for pretty much everything else, so that's why I've put off trying to fix it until now.

Sound level needs to be at 100% for it to be the equivalent of about 30% on my laptop. I've tried everything in 'Sound and Hardware' but nothing works. Also, if I plug my speakers into the rear jack the sound is even lower than when plugged into the front jack. The speakers themselves aren't great but it's not just them that's the problem, as it's still not as loud as it should be with headphones.

    Here are my specs:

    Windows 7 64bit
    Intel i5 650
    6GB RAM
ATI Radeon HD5700 (This also causes endless problems with BSODs, etc.)
And it's telling me that I apparently have 3 sound cards:
    -Realtek High Definition Audio
    -Intel Display Audio
    -ATI High Definition Audio Device

    Any thoughts/advice?

    Thanks for your help,

    Neil

I take it you have only the one sound card? have you tried reinstalling the soundcard, and updating to the latest driver version.

Honestly I'm not sure but Windows is telling me I have those 3 ^

I've tried updating the software, but not a full re-install as yet. I can't believe I didn't think of it.......:o

Intel Display Audio and ATI High Definition Audio Device are probably HDMI ports.
