But you have an issue with how he posted the warning and the fact that he signed off with "Mod".

What way would you have liked him to issue the instruction?
I'd like him to have kept his mouth shut, because there was nothing wrong with the discussion going on in the thread. Fair enough, infract/warn someone when they do something wrong, but there's no need to butt in before that. It just makes you look like an insecure sadact who wants to remind people you're a forum moderator.

It's not the first time it's happened (but I cba finding examples so we can just pretend it's hypothetical again).

Needlessly intervening to call people "children" and tell them to stop their discussion, and then banning someone when they ask which rule they have broken. Really?

It's often good practice to interject early in an argument with a reminder to stay civil, rather than letting it turn into a flame-war and having to dole out cards and bans later.

I'd much rather warn on-thread than infract or ban. It's fairer and cleaner for everyone.

Lol, what do you think he did? It was a warning.

And now you're talking about something completely different to what you started the thread on. If you've a problem with a mod's actions, there's a whole dispute resolution forum. You started this thread about the manner in which they perform this action.

So assuming the mod's actions were correct (whether they were or weren't is irrelevant), what is your problem with him clarifying that it was a mod instruction?

Disputes with moderators get discussed in the Dispute Resolution Forum, not here.
