Check coolant level light help

Own a Vw golf 07 1.9tdi engine. Recently when starting it a light beeps at me to stop check coolant level so turned off engine and checked level fine tad much if anything. Think it might be these freezing temperatures thats making it play up. Wondering any other golf owners have this problem thanks in advance for replies.

Try checking it with the engine running and pumping around but don't wait till it gets too hot to open the cap.Or if you can you might see the water through the bottle.
