Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I love Dublin on Christmas eve. All the shops are open and since nearly everyone has already purchased their gifts you'll have it pretty much to yourself. There's also great bargains to be had since nobody is in town the shops put their sales items out early. I would definitely recommend heading into HMV on Grafton street if you want to see what it's like when you are the only customer in the store, a very peaceful and pleasant shopping experience full of festive cheer. Also don't feel that you need to go in early, with no queues at the various checkouts you'll be able to whiz around the city and get all your shopping done in 30 minutes flat. Trust me.

Castleblaney is closed on Xmas eve I believe.

Seeing as we are not specifically talking about any one town.

Except the site is boards.ie, 95% of its users live in Ireland, and the OP has been so kind as to clearly state on his profile the part of the nation in which is living.

I’m unimpressed by your analogy, sir, and by the overall abilities of inference displayed on this thread in general.

    Yes - boards.ie not boards.citycenterofDublin
1: The OP is from Dublin
2: Dubliners refer to Dublin city centre as “town”
3: Therefore, when the OP says “town,” he is referring to Dublin city centre

Why do people wait until christmas eve to do shopping anyway? its madness, christmas is the exact same date every year, plan for it, its not a randomly announced day. I hated working in retail on xmas eve, people falling over themselves to panick buy whatevers left on the shelves

Good News Op! Town is open on Christmas eve.

Bad News! Christmas has been cancelled.

It was an either/or situation. I think next year it's the other way around!:D
