Anyone been ? Normally bring the kids (3 and 1) to Glendeer, but this looks just as good from the website.

    Thoughts ?

Santa's also appearing at Emo tea Rooms at weekends which is a pretty nice place to go if there's snow lying or even if there isn't. Just so picturesque. And amazing tearooms

So, my friend went with her Little boy and her sister and neice to see Santa at annaharvey today. She said it was awful, that she felt like crying for the kids. Such a let down apparently

Well, we went yesterday too. What swung it in the end was proxminity, and the fact that it is free for adults (glendeer charge 7 per adult), and 10 for the 9month old (glendeer charge full price at 15) - so about 25 cheaper.

They let too many in, but in a recession and with the weather, can't blame anyone on that. They jsut needed to organize better once inside.
Seeing all the animals is nice, and the pony ride for the kids was a great idea, they loved it.

Problem was once you got to see Santa, the queue was too long. However, we saw this would be the case, asked est time and were told 45 min queue, so off in for a nice coffee and mince pie, back out and up to top of queue. However, those who waited were rightly pissed off, they really should have had 3 or 4 santas inside, and could have ran it much more efficently.
Regardless, the 3 yo loved it, first time on a pony, and the 9 mo even took a ride, but sure he loves everything anyway.....:)

A tearoom is a place you have tea. Strangely.

In fact Dusty87, there's one / was one in Tullamore called 'The Tea Room'. You can see a sign at Clonmich just before the bypass roundabout. I think it is / used to be in the Heritage Centre. Tea rooms tend to be the nom descriptor around heritage sites. Makes ya feel upmarket :D

In this case, Emo Tearooms are exquisite. A lot of home-baked produce for sale, plus hot meals, plus Afternoon tea done properly. All in gorgeous surroundings. A lot of people go there on Saturdays and Sundays. Bit of a secret, still.
