    hi

my neighbour's car which is a 2005 307 1.6hdi, suddenly stopped while driving down the road..
She checked the coolant which was froze solid and the rubber pipes also all frozen...
although the water in the expansion tank looks like it had antifreeze in it but on further checking had not ..
its in shed now and waiting on its to be thaw'd out
PROBABLY big money to fix this now -

that could be screwed unfortunately.. the engine could be shagged

might be a write off but im open to correction

how far was the car driven before it stalled, its odd to get any great distance if the whole engine block was ice (which seems the case)

With a bit of luck it could just be frozen diesel. As x says unlikely to drive for a mile then stop if block damaged.

If it was badly frozen then the impeller on the water pump maybe have
sheared off and caused the T-belt to slip at tooth or two.....
    Its worth checking the timing.
    I can't understand why mechanics/owners don't use coolent...
