FM radio on Desire faulty?

    Hi.
The FM radio app on my Desire stops working if i have it open for a while.
Basically after listening to the radio for maybe 20 mins or so, it gets stuck on one channel and all the buttons become unusable (including the exit button meaning i have to reboot the phone to shut it down; app manager doesn't seem to work).
Anyone else having a problem with the radio or its software.
Is there alternative software that would solve the problem.

I'm using modacorom but i doubt that's the reason tbh.
    Any ideas.
    Thanks.

Edit: a lot of people having same problem here

    Froyo might sort it.
Is it ok to install Froyo over a rooted rom like modacorom.
    Don't mind losing root tbh.

Mine gets the non-responsiveness and refusal to be killed, but not the other issue.

Seems to occur when you move in and out of wireless range of remembered networks, the radio service doesn't kill on close either you need to kill it manually in the task manager, this kinda makes sense as the the digital receiver could be shared between services, android 2.2 / 2.3 doesn't automatically kill locked processes it seems.

Places a touch icon for your running services and wireless on one of the start screens so you can kill the services and/or switch on/off wireless manually thats what I have done with my limited knowledge.. so far seems to work.
