Plenty over Louth too. They persisted for ages and slowly turned into almost full cloud cover

Pretty rotten things really, imo. Does anyone know what sort of effect they have on regional weather, and how to predict their formation?

Took this after my folks pointed it out...really into the aviation so I was there trying to work out what fix/waypoint they were all routing over :P

I have one taken at the same time - with the three intersecting. I will post it up later today hopefully.

It caused much excitement in the Zag household, with mini-zags rushing out to the back garden to see where all the planes were.

I've never seen similar patterns over Dublin before. I wonder was it a function of weather exposing contrails that normally aren't visible or whether it was just a different set of routings that day ?

I heard mention over in A&A that it was courtesy of the Aer Chór but maybe that was idle speculation. I can't think of a fix in that particular location, having a fair knowledge of the airways over the east coast as I do.
