    Midleton, lads. Midleton.

Close to sea, countryside, Carrrkkk city, have an airport up the road and trains and buses, some lovely cuisine from Ballymaloe and the Food Festival, drink from the Distillery and it's not Youghal!

I'm trying to think of how I can turn that into a joke about you and Didier Drogba, but I'm drawing a blank.

    It's there... I know it!

It is easier to factor out the worst towns in Ireland.

Dublin is the worst. Reason: traffiic congestion
Waterford is horrible. Reason: Waterford has the distinction of being located in one of the most naturally beautiful sites in the country, but incompetent planning has resulted in it being one of the ugliest cities in the planet. I'd rather live in Calcutta.
Cork is dire: Reason - snobbishness. If you live in Cork & your great grandparents didnt come from Turners cross you are a nobody.

Limerick- sure they do be all stabbin each other. say no more.
    Galway: see Dublin, above.

Youghal, New Ross, Arklow, Wicklow, Drogheda, Dundalk - all old ports that are failed or dying.

Best towns are small, have decent facilities, are well located geographically, have decent local natural amenities.... boils down fast to places like
    - Kilkenny
    - Wexford
    - Kinsale ( traffic a disaster here though)
    - Courtmacsherry ( beautiful, but dead in winter)

All inland towns to be avoided as they are buried under a patina of cow****.

    That is all!

What's the 'best' town in Ireland, in your opinion?

I'd say Dundalk or even Drogheda.

    UP DUNDALK!!!
