noooo, ffs, had 5 for ages, where'd I get it was 10? ah well, finally have someplace to stick all those dragon scales Lydia was carrying and the armor and stuff I dont use, spent some money on decorating the place too lol

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 10,898 ✭✭✭✭seanybiker

You can decorate? Ha I have to go buy the place so.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,911 ✭✭✭SeantheMan

You dont' decorate really. You buy the upgrade, and all the stuff is automatically there on your next visit.

I spent a fortune doing up my house in Whiterun and DB Sanctuary etc, Only the one in Windhelm was really worth doing....and is statistically the best if you go by Weapon / Shield racks and cases etc

I have 3 fully furnished houses and over 100k gold..

I find that money is redundant in this game really! you find everything you need tbh

If you go to Riften and get involved in the Thieves Guild you can eventually unlock more merchants who have more gold.
IIRC you need to complete the Thieves Guild Quests and then do a bunch of slightly boring repeated thievery quests that gradually add merchants to the Guild base under Riften. Doing lots of Sweep jobs and Numbers jobs is easiest if you are not a natural stealth character.

Fastest way to level speech is to sell expensive items one at a time to traders. Selling e.g. 10 legendary enchanted swords in one go will only net you the XP for one sale. Buy something back from them and then repeat. You will lose gold overall doing this but once you get to a certain stage in the game gold is not a problem.

that pc interface mod is cool, its funny how people who come up with mods better a lot of the stuff the developers themselves did to begin with.

don't forget the Whiterun free house exploit

  • Registered Users Posts: 34,788 ✭✭✭✭krudler

decided to go way back to original quests I got early on, stuff like the companions and early whiterun quests, getting my ass handed to me being a paltry lvl 19 in the later story quests.

whats the point in that, if you want something like that just add it to your inventory with the console! Stuff like this ruins the game for me so I avoid it :P

You can do it when buying just about any house, just have a cupboard or something nearby.

They don't, I needed to use one to get past a glitch and still receiving achievements.

Better off doing the speech glitch in riften (black briar meadery). Takes a while but will get you to 100 without a cent spent. You'll also notice the prices offered for goods go well up ;)

I've finished the main quest and all other guild quests, but Jesus Christ these small jobs are annoying the hell out of me as I try to get the achievement for restoring the Thieves Guild to its former glory.:( two more special quests to do, i think.
