Is EVE online hard to learn the basics of?

Ive heard you can buy game card time with in game money? How does that work? How many hours would you have to spend to get that money to actually buy the game card? <-- that was the reason i made the thread im curious about it

Also is there any websites with a very basic guide to the starting up?

Also is the universe one big area so will i be able to play with anyone that plays with the game?

    1. CCP have really worked on the tutorial to get people started. I haven't done the tutorial in abou 4 years so can't vouch for it. But other people say that it is a big improvement.

    2. Basically you can buy plexs with real life money and then sell them in game for ISK. I think plexes are about 330million which you can easily raise by market trading. https://secure.eveonline.com/marketing/plex/plex.aspx

    3. There are a load of websites you can get them with google.

    4. The server is unsharded so you play with everyone else in one big universe. (Yes)

    1. The tutorials are pretty good now, they'll get you though the basics. Getting in with a decent corp will get you the rest of the basics if the corp isn't full of assholes.

    2. D said it all. One thing about PLEX, don't undock with one if you can help it. People will destroy your ship just for the chance to get one since it's worth a good bit.

    3. http://wiki.eveuniversity.org/Getting_Started_In_Eve_Online Eve University is a newbie friendly corp that aims to give anyone a helping hand on getting started in the eve universe. You can apply to join and get some training on how to play/start eve - http://wiki.eveuniversity.org/Applying_to_Eve_University

Getting in to a corporation is probably the best thing to do when starting out, well, joining a good (newbie friendly) corp is the best thing.

Might want to aim a bit highier

    http://eve-central.com/home/quicklook.html?typeid=29668

370m isk seems to be an more average price.

Use the buddy invite/trial system to your full advantage tbh. Ordinary trial, 14 days. Buddy invite trial, 21 days. Plus the buddy that invited you gets 30 days if you sign up for a full account...

The only other cheap way to get started in eve is to wait for the Christmas steam sale to come around, eve has been in the last two for fairly cheap. (Doesn't work with a buddy invite though.) Gets you started with 30 days game time for about €5.

Looks like there's another person trying something like yourself.

    http://www.scrapheap-challenge.com/viewtopic.php?t=38102&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

Once you get past the trolls you might find something of use on that thread. Might.

I wouldn't bother posting to the eve section of scrapheap, they're not newbie friendly.
