Take away the Ireland football experience and its knock-on effects and the 90's really had nothing going for it. Even most of the music I used to listen to (in retrospect) was shíte. It was also the decade that killed Star Wars :(

Guys wearing lumberjack shirts buttoned all the way up.
Guys who never washed their chin-length hair thinking it made them look like Kurt Cobain.
    Velvet scrunchies.
Girls trying to look and act like Whine-ona Ryder.
The difficulties in spontaneously trying to get condoms until 1993.
    Most chart music.
Not having a car and getting rained on waiting for buses/lifts.

Have to say though, in general I loved the 90s, especially:
    Docs
Not needing to dress up/wear make-up/do anything to my hair to go out
    Grunge music and Fibber Magees
Féile!!!!! Tipp hasn't tripped since :(

The 90s was a great decade for me. Leaving school, going to college and having a f***ing ball and being young and carefree.:)

There are a few things from that decade I don't miss...

    Spice Girls
    Ace of Bass
    Other assorted pop crap
Incredibly slow internet - 20 mins to download a picture
    Hair scrunchies
    Shiny tracksuits
    Beverly Hills 90210
    The Lyrics Board
    Tiny Little Rucksacks for girls
..and sh*tty roads relieved only by the shortest, meanest stretches of motorways imaginable.

But all things considered, the 90s was a pretty cool decade. The Catholic church's grip on Irish society collapsed, the economy started to boom and Ireland became a freer, more open society.

Certainly better than the 2000s music and TV wise.

Drain-pipe jains..........though hipsters seems to love them now.
    Glitter everywhere
    Sister Sister
Awful reception for Channel 4 / ITV / BBC on your crap aerial
    56k modems........*shudders*
    Gateway PCs
    Glenroe
    Manky fringes with shaved hair..........yuck!
    Mood rings
    Hang Time
    Daria
    Euro-trash pop music *vomits*
    Ibiza Uncovered "'Ave it!!!!!"

Smoking on the bus was banned in the late 80's I thought.

It might have been but people were still doing it. I think it finally went away with the smoking ban in pubs

Smoking on the bus was banned in the late 80's I thought.

It must have been gone by the mid-90's at least as I remember first listening to A Day in the Life by the Beatles around that time and when I heard the line "Made the bus in seconds flat , Found my way upstairs and had a smoke," and actually being quite surprised by the whole idea.

Next Gen and DS9 were great but he's right about Voyager, it was an abomination

One Star Treck was enough, but three spin-offs(all within the 90's). Two of which had Worf and Chief O'Brien, with Chief O'Brien wearing a red shirt in Next Gen but a Yellow one in DS9:eek:. I think Worf wore the same but the complete opposite. The only thing memorable about Next Gen was the Borg and Jean-Luk Picard.

Voyager was only good when the episodes where about Seven of Nine, cause she was sexy in those outfits she wore, and also when the Borg where in it

DS9 was the worst though, just plain boring, cause they didn't explore and find trouble, trouble had to come to them.

I can live with one star treck but three is just mad, hell they even went and made that prequel Enterprise, which was just tiresome.
