    Hello,

I broke the lens mount on my Nikon lD60 lens and am wondering if anybody has any experience of replacing similar.

I have checked online and I see that it is a pretty regular occurance. I called Berminghams who said that I need to send it back to Nikon who charge €150 to repair it. They also said that it probably wasn't worth doing and I should just buy a new one for €170 which I wont be doing as the lens has about 500 photos taken with it. They also said that there isnt a Nikon repair company in Ireland.

I contacted the SLR company called but they wont give an estimate until they see it. Even though I could explain it to them....and show them the part that needs to be replaced.

    So, I'm thinking DIY...

I checked online and found a US company who replace the part for $16 but I am not sure if anyone has experience of replacing the part. Is it difficult to do and any suggestions?

    Many thanks in advance....
