I won't be back in Dublin until the 23rd.

Also are pubs in town open on the 26th?

Is he related to Brendan Kilkenny?

We don't talk about him anymore. Not since that time he went out to the shop to get a packet of cigarettes and never came back.

Papa, why did you leave us? :(

Busiest night of the year in a lot of places so I'd say yes.:)

    Let's just be realistic here...
It's going to be in Dublin if it happens..

I know AH isn't the Dublin forum and yadda yadda yadda.. but the majority of the posters here are Dubs.

Also.. The rest of the country scares me.
I left a city once and got viscously attacked by a herd of sheep.
    Never again

    You think I'm joking??
I was away camping with a few mates at the end of the summer and a few of us went for a drunken wander through the fields around where we had pitched the tent.
45 minutes later i'd gotten hopelessly lost from everyone else.
Found them all about an hour later but they were across the far side of a field with a load of sheep in it.

I thought they'd do a runner as soon as I put a foot over the fence but it must have been feeding time or something.. Next thing I know there's about 40 sheep making a bloody B-line for me.
I'm a true jackeen. As far as I'm concerned meat, wool, eggs and all that stuff come from a supermarket... I remember vaguely that animals are involved somewhere but don't really think about it.
Either way in my half drunk, trespassing in a field state I was not prepared for advancement by a horde of fluffy bleating animals.
    So I legged it.

Looks like nobody's really bothered with a beers anyway so.
    Just a thought..

Rooky mistake, sheep can smell fear and they've got dead eyes, like a dolls eyes! Alternatively knock them over and they can't get back up for a while. Myself and the brothers used to get a great laugh out of this

Don't really see how it's derailed, it'll add to the atmosphere:rolleyes:

Will we set it for Dublin so? Were getting close enough so some serious suggestions would be useful.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 14,762 ✭✭✭✭stupidusername

nah... if it's in dublin I won't be going... smell of skanger off that place... wha!

You know you've spent too much time on boards when anytime you see AH anywhere, your first thought is "After Hours". I swear I'm going to write that down in an exam instead of authentication header.

Lets have it in Galway, just to be different.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 14,762 ✭✭✭✭stupidusername

no...... if we were to be really different we could have it in Clonmel.

but I wouldn't inflict that on anyone

    :pac:

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,004 ✭✭✭jimthemental

I'd rather somewhere other than Galway as I'm going there anyway for a pissup soon and Dublin is too common, though I haven't drank with boards people anywhere yet. At the moment Kilkenny has my vote with Dublin a reluctant second.

    Clonmel is OK with me.

Isn't it a bit late to be organising a Christmas beers?

    1. We vote on location.
    2. Carlow/Athlone wins.
    3. The Master realising that his Probation terms exclude him from leaving Dublin; closes the poll and announces that the beers will be in Dublin City centre and anyone from outside Dublin can have their own beers.
    4. Beers are held in Dublin.
    5. Wake up in strange places the next day with a whore of a hangover and find yourself tagged in numerous Facebook photos.
    6. Say you're never going to one again but a good night is had by all.
    7. Wash, rinse and repeat.

Although if this years beers were to coincide with The Master doing his charity gig it might be fun .....
