does anyone know where I can get quality wooden toys in Dublin? i was thinking of something along the lines of a wooden trainset or in the vein of wooden heart toys in Galway.

There was a guy in the St. Annes park market in Raheny on Saturday selling German wooden toys like the stuff in Galway.

There is an old doll shop on georges st. I'd say they sell wooden toys. Maybe ring them first

There's a toy shop on Dawson Street that does wooden and old-fashioned toys and games. It might be worth a look.

Aldi also have a wooden train set as part of their special buys this week.

My nephew has the Ikea train set, I think the quality is fairly good.

In previous years I have often seen a few old fashioned toys (some nice stocking fillers ) in Avoca!

There was also a piece on TV3 news tonight of some company in Dublin making some sort of educational toys. Was only half-listening to it so didn't get the full details.

http://www.woodentoys.ie/ -- I've bought several things from them in the past for my grandsons and have been extremely pleased with both the quality and price.

It is a family business based in Clonee and last I knew, also had a kiosk in the Powerscourt Centre [entrances in South William Street, Coppinger Row and Clarendon Street]. Would highly recommend you take a look at their things!

There's some nice stuff in the Oxfam shop near Stephen's green - got something there for a nephew not so long ago.

Hamleys (Dundrum SC) have plenty of wooden toys too towards the back of the store on the ground level.

There was a shop in the small mall at the Westbury mall just off Grafton st that sold lots of wooden and handmade toys, i'm not sure if it's still there
Someone else mentioned Dawson st which is also what you're looking for I think

Big Elf Toys also sell wooden educational toys online and provide supported employment for people with learning and social difficulties.
They were featured on the news the other night and I couldn't recall who they were earlier on this thread.
Please help support this excellent work initiative :)

Bought a wooden blocks set in Inspiring Ideas in the Blanchardstown shopping centre. Its over beside Maplin.

Fairly sure they had more of a range of wooden toys.

On your right hand side as you walk in the door.
