draught proofing front door

I was thinking of adding draught proof around front door if this is a runner. I found a product in Woodys but am not clear as to where u fit it exactly. It's a roll of thin white foam-like strip. There is already a seal around the PVC door. Does it go on topof what's already there or what?
    Thanks

Alternatively was considering putting up a curtain at my front door. has anyone done this and does it help? Not keen on the idea from an aesthetic opint of view but my hall seems quite draughty so I'm thinking it's the front door.

If its a PVC door, then its unlikely to be the problem, unless its in bad shape.

That white stick on stuff is a big pants.
