In my experience, the only roads treated are the ones off the motorway.
So approach wicklow from the exit off the m11,thats the first one after the beehive and go in that way via rathnew.
Despite the sunshine it's still sub zero so roads even with no snow will be slippy if not treated.

i was thinking of that way but got reports that the hill down into rathnew is bad....

In Monkstown, heaviest snow I've seen yet, including the snowfall earlier this month, the place has gone completely white in less than half an hour... Sick of it now, wanna get home for Christmas..

    Strange DM2

The shower hitting Howth/ Sutton and S Dublin is backbuilding just to our east.

The one further north appears to be out of play for the time being.

Massive Thunder & Lightning right now.

How i wish i was in Howth, must be getting hammered!

    WAH?! WER?

Very heavy snow in Dun Laoghaire, as said. Winter wonderland out there! I heard a bit of thunder as the snow cloud approached too :)

True. Will take you a wee bit longer but it certainly is safer - no question. The beehive way is fine too but if you're going that way - just go straight all the way into the town coming out by the Grand Hotel/Old Forge.

Still nothing in dublin 12, about 9 km from the coast. Heard some thunder and and clouds are slowly edging towards here. City centre should see some snow soon from the looks of it!

    Might get some snow
Not a huge amount I think judging from streamers in Irish Sea

BTW did anyone notice the max temp on raintoday as being +23C in the Isle of Man??????

Methinks a glitch or someone left the thermometer next to a radiator!:)

Heavy snow here now too despite the radar not showing anything too heavy this far south

I saw the same thing the other day (friday I think), was it that Ronaldway place (think thats the name)? If its the same place must be a glitch, somebody sitting on the thermometer or something
