Anyone an update on what Meath is like at the moment?

County Meath (pronounced /ˈmiːð/; Irish: Contae na Mí or simply an Mhí) is one of the twenty-six counties of the Republic of Ireland and one of the thirty-two counties of Ireland. It is located in the province of Leinster. It was named after the historic kingdom and province of Mide (meaning "middle"), and is today also known by the nickname "The Royal County" due to its history as seat of the ancient High Kings of Ireland.[1][2][3] The population of the county is 162,831 according to the 2006 census.[4] Meath is the 14th largest of Ireland’s 32 counties in area and 9th largest in terms of population[5]. It is the second largest of Leinster’s 12 counties in size and third largest in terms of population. The county town is Navan, where the county hall and government are located, although Trim, the former county town, has historical significance and remains a sitting place of the circuit court. County Meath also has the only two Gaeltacht areas in the province of Leinster, at Ráth Cairn and Baile Ghib.:pac::pac::pac:

Light Flakes blowing in air on Pearse Street ....

It is crazy how localized these flurries of snow are I was out for a walk an hour ago ..not much snow around Dublin 2 but as soon as you cross over the Dodder to Ringsend there was lying snow. The seagulls are having fun ice skating in the semi frozen Grand Canal Dock.

Bucketing down in Blackrock. Almost white out conditions. So nice and unexpected as it wasn't really forecast. Really thought the East was gonna get nothing from this cold snap so delighted something finally came. The question now is how do I get home!!

    where?

no snow in bray at the moment, 1.4 degrees(a high). Some melting on roofs etc but I feel there will be a drop as the sun goes down and this snow cloud hits. It will be interesting to see how it works out and if it gets this far seeing as its so localised.

snow has returned here, snowing moderately and complete cloud cover, the northeasterly tinge could bring a decent fall of snow for some lucky spots, some spots may get unlucky and just a passing shower.

    Interesting evening afoot:D

Whereabouts is that? There hasn't been anything worth talking about here in Ballyfermot/Palmerstown. A bit of a shower earlier on. I think the main event(if there is going to be one?)will happen later tonight/early tomorrow?

A bit skeptical about the snow about to hit Dublin. The wind along the coast is moving from the NW according to here http://www.irelandsweather.com ?

Will it push the sneachta along the coast missing the inland parts? Someone set me at ease please!

snow flakes the size of apples falling in dalkey!!! its mental:D:D:D

Looks like we're back to stuff only scraping the coast, at least for North Dub :(

Such a tease! Anyone have a scientific explanation for why this stuff isn't really moving inland like the streamers did in the last cold spell? Something to do with pressure holding it off, or..?

Are the streamers likely to increase once night falls and temps start to drop?

Anything for anyone else in north Dublin suburbs or the city centre? Nothing here, although the clouds are fast obscuring the sunlight.

Irish land mass extremely cold so those showers being pushed by v light winds take the easy option and skirt down the coast
