If the scattered showers hit in Wicklow nobody would bat an eye.

Anyway the closure of Dublin Airport is a total joke. People affected will probably not be able to re-book and will miss Christmas. All for 1-2 inches of snow, the kind of snow which falls in Eastern and Northern Europe, Russia, and much of the US every single winter day.

The snowfall has not been excessive. Open the damned airport.

I dont work for the DAA but i do fly for an airline. I'll say that dublin airport do a great job and fair play to the lads that clear the rwny(runway) and twxys(taxiways) Today they have been trying to get the diversions from the uk out and in doing so have limited slot times.

They have currently run out of slots and will be re-opening estimated at 2135Z

Not to sound pedantic, but it seems a lot of people don't really know exactly what this means:

    Whiteout

It doesn't refer to the ground being covered in white.

A good 4 inches has fallen here.

Met Eireann have serious questions to answer.

A few showers were forecast. No warnings of significant accumulations.

They even has sun over Dublin untill about 4 pm when they changed the image on the website.

They are a shambles of an organisation.

But I suppose it is what we should expect from a State run entity. A load of over piad clowns

They forcast snow showers, its -2 outside, do you expect it to melt?

    Use your brain!

What about the poor relations in West Dublin

will we get anything from this?

STILL total gridlock on the East link bridge, usually by now would be the ocassional passing car.
    Unreal!

Have a weather station?, why not join the Ireland Weather Network - http://irelandweather.eu/
