I hope everyone got home safely in Dublin tonight. It was (and still is) really bad out there.

My motto about RTE forecasts is (jokingly, because they do a reasonably good job) - when it is forecast it doesn't happen much, and when it is not forecast it happens MUCH!

On that basis, we could have balmy, dry and snow free weather for the next few days instead of heavy snow around the coasts...

    Watch this space!!

Right I'm off to bed, looking good for the south east in the next few hours, I hope I wake to more snow in Dublin.

Night all & hope all your snowy dreams come through :)

PS. Remember to look in on your old or infirm neighbors tomorrow, its fun for us but not fun for them

Hey WC. Do you think that thin band of high dense cloud to the South of the South coast moving East could feed the percip thats building towards Leinster ?

The band of cloud over Wales, currently beginning its trip over the Irish sea is expected to pep up and impact us.

I see that, but it looks weak.

Just curious that the strong band to the S of Ireland looks to be getting sucked into it. Hopefully that adds "fuel to the fire" so to speak on its journey across the sea.. :)

not a thing here in letterkenny, (apart from all the snow on the ground!)

Patience, if you look at the sat pics, you can see the slab of cloud over Wales moving over, is expect to pep up and afect coast around 5-6am.

Dead right, Im going to take a break and look in a while. Meant to say you deserve a lot of credit around here as well, spot on so far for a lot and predicted the weekend wouldn't be as crazy as some forecasted.

-5 here at the moment. Fair play to Fingal, the roads are very well gritted (the main ones!). What a difference a few hours makes!
