It looks like a shallow low has formed.
It's so heavy now,I can't see the entrance here and I am now working out in it.
    A total fog of snow.
    -1.5c

If that low stays stationary, could that heavy band over wicklow not potentially, go full circle around the low and give Louth/DublinVwicklow an absolute pasting??!!

I say it every year but this winter more than ever I wish I had a weather station! Might see if I can pick one up today.

Met Eireann have no symbol for -10c, so it is just text:D

Love it. Think the DUBAIR record is -10.1c (?), i wonder will the 830 report have beaten it.

that band to the east seems to be breaking into 2, Dublin looks like it might miss out on any decent snow

I drove home in that snow yesterday evening in my automatic car(well it has one of those DSG gearboxes), and I have to say it was a scary experience:eek:! I left work shortly after 4pm, and it was a crawl all the way through Ballyfermot village. I kept it at about 30kph all the way home. My ****ing wipers seized just as I was entering my estate.

I(and I think wisely)decided to come to work this morning by taxi!!!! I do not want to do that again!!!

EDIT: There were a few flurries while I was coming in this morning also.

    It is -10.1C in 1961
I think the current station location is a colder site though, but -10C is still very low!!

beautiful white covering here in Lucan.
Estate looks very icy and traffic crawling by on main road. :)

My son is due in from Stansted airport today at about 2.30, so Ive got my fingers and toes crossed the airport stays open today, and that London dosent get snow .

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,778 ✭✭✭✭ninebeanrows

A bit of very light snow here now.

Yea the radar still does my head in, don't understand it.

I have NW radar and it is very confusing.

Although did pick up this flurry, threw guts of it over Howth.

They appear very light behind it too.
