    1. Why is it that snow never seems to reach Kilkenny while near by Carlow and Wicklow region get hammered?

Wicklow & Carlow never do well in the hurling, swings and roundabouts

Where do you get that radar map with the red indicating snow? Can someone post up the whole country so we get an idea where we're at? Thanks:)

Iy takes about 90 mins to go about 10 miles so patience grasshoppa.
The clump last night was the same.
    Snowing and piling up.
This shower looks like it's dropped another half inch already in 10 mins

Heavy snow in shankill again pretty much all morning now.
Good 8/10 inches of snow here.

Roads are a joke not a bit of grit in sight.

    1. Why is it that snow never seems to reach Kilkenny while near by Carlow and Wicklow region get hammered? Is it the geography of the region?
    2. With all this cold weather how will it affect our smaller animals here in Ireland (i.e the non native rabbit)

    1. Its the mountains I reckon.
    2. Dunno. Nothing has killed them off yet....

We now have 5 inches on the wall, probably deeper on grass.

The very heavy snow stopped around 12.30.

Quite heavy the last while here. Sun breaking out from somewhere though, guess there was a gap in the cloud passing.

Woke this morning to surprise snow (the best kind) in Castlebar, got another 4-5 inches on top of the 4-5 of compacted snow we had already and drove to work in ballina then which got an epic 8 inches overnight from a streamer, there was already about 4-5 inches of compacted snow...I have never seen snow like it!! I'm flying to Italy on the 23rd from Dublin airport so hoping that I make it out now, they have a metre of snow in Italy where I'm travelling to so its gonna be a white Christmas either way!:D

The bit just north of caernarfon? It's a bit flattered with the lift from the mountains to it's south....but if it manages to stay up and gets fed by the Irish sea then it's time to break out the emergency rations.

Quite funny to watch all the planes in holding patterns near the airport suddenly fly off to the South and West. One plane that was half way accross the Irish Sea turned around and went back to the UK. :D

I know it's not funny for the people affected but it was like Dubln Airport just let off a huge fart!

Im gutted :( My poor son is stuck in an airport till at least 5 o clock he says.
if this snow keeps up all day, he wont get here at all. Luckily for me, I was kinda mentally prepared due to MT's warning a few weeks ago. So thanks again MT, you are a diamond.
