Flurry (no pun intended) of forecasts just there

RTE - moving towards epic snow. For them to actually confirm snow for Saturday means we will have lots

UTV - showing snow for Fri, Sat and Sun

Sky - showing lots and lots of snow for Fri, Sat and Sun

Here we go folks. Hold on to your hats, gloves and scarfs.....

Amazing conditions here right now, blizzard like conditions with heavy horizontally moving snow. Best shower we've had since it got dark

Evelyn in nowcast mode on weather just there.

Watching BBC NI news just now, snow is heavy and sticking where it falls.
V light snow shower in Dundalk in the last 30 min...light but none of it has melted. More on the way judging by raintoday.

MT's forecasts are sending my head spinning.

He's been bang on the money so far, for the best part of a week.
How much heed can be paid to snow-fall charts though? I realise they're a best guess based on the data on hand, but those amounts for Dublin/Leinster are staggering.

Big fat beautiful flakes falling in Craughwell, Co Galway. Not sticking yet but lasting a good few seconds before melting. :)

Heavy blowing snow in Tuam now, cars already white and it's starting to stick in patches on the ground now too!

Snowing Donegal Town... I have missed out on the last few big showers by a couple of miles... catching the edge of this one.

Snow showers look set to clatter the West and North over the evening and night. Heaviest intensities in Donegal would be at about 10.30pm for example, later on further south.

Isn't Belfast cute! You'll never see Cork like that.

Do you think they will remain as showers or is there a chance of them grouping together to form longer periods of snow?

It appears the showers are forming a wee band which will reach Donegal by about 10pm or so, but it's moving fast and it's not very deep so it won't last beyond 30 minutes. But it will help with intensity a bit and it may push into Roscommon and east Galway further than the other showers. Still, it's nothing massive but it will be interesting to see how much it beefs up by when the small band reaches the coast.
