Drip drip of meltwater in swords. IPhone says temp at 0.
Could this be a thaw, or just a temporary rise with a dip on the way?

Take that with a pinch of gravel. It just moves the precip in the direction of the flow at the time!

I agree, those predictive raintoday radar images aren't great. More of a general guide to what would happen if everything stayed the same as it is at present synoptic wise.

But I do think the east coast is in for another hammering in the next few hours. There's even precip building up to the southeast of the Isle of man now and a constant feed of instability from Wales. Add some convection from the Irish Sea to all that and it's fair to say it's looking ominous. More like omilicious actually :)

The Wales claw appears to be inching closer on recent radar updates. Hopefully it won't bring warmer temps with it.

Still quiet here. Think the slight thaw that was happening has stopped.

Hope this snow is gone by 27th. Must be a foot of this stuff outside the doors. It's been nearly a month of snow and it's not even January. I've had enough. Businesses are suffering.

If this continues to happen every winter we'll just have to stop moaning and suck it up in a big way. Can't let this stuff shut the country down every year.

Absolutely. There has to be significant investment in snow clearing equipment.

Heavy snow ALWAYS brings the temperature down. Starts of a little sleety sometimes but turns to snow very very quickly when the precipitation gets heavier.

  • Registered Users Posts: 800 ✭✭✭Jimjay

So much for the thaw, looks like heavy snow now. Has the creature from Wales just landed on greystones. It's already replacing what melted.

I want it to go one way or the other, very heavy or none at all. I have to travel up to work in Dublin in the morning and have zero interest in wading through slush.

How about we teach people a inch of snow doesnt mean you have to drive like a fecking muppet, or be afraid of getting behind the wheel.

You'll be more likely to be tunneling through snowdrifts tbh

Yeah started ad sleet / hail but now quite heavy snow. Must have dropped the temp as it came.
