As much as I love the snow, im sorta sick of it :o we had LOAAAADs yesterday, so mother nature let someone else have a go :P oh and does anyone think Dublin 11 will get further showers or will it stay on the south side

Snowing in Swords now. Small flakes - moderate strength. Totally cloudy now after a beautiful morning and plenty of cloud in the Malahide/Irish sea direction.

I expect further growth of those streamers as they near the coast, i can hazard a guess that those land off shore currents (NW-NNW) will help pump up those cbs as the wind flows out onto a relatively warm sea, and at the same time keeping a flow of clouds from the NE (maybe NNE later?).

That small streamer at the moment appears to be heading towards north Wicklow.

Whats the temp in Bray? The bray weather site says its 2.0c, would that not produce rain or would the streamer bring cold air with it?

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,761 ✭✭✭✭Inquitus

Stopped snowing in Swords quite quickly.

If the streamer did reach bray you'd be likely to initially get soft hail and then snow. If precipitation makes it snow is highly likely as winds are blowing from the land and clouds are coming from the sea.

Appears like there is a decent shower heading for south Dublin/ North Wicklow.

Seems to be some light cloud heading in a westerly direction now - Palmerstown? Nothing coming out of it though - yet.

Heavy stuff coming down in D11

Definitely clouded up here in Clondalkin now, but is it going to bring snow? Very slight thaw where sun was directly shining onto snow, but not much.

Heavy clouds in D12/10. I'm also at one of the highest points, and can see snow clouds in every direction. Howth is slowly disappearing.

Oh, and winds look NE, so possible circulation happening
