Am I mad to try to get from Dublin to Galway, through to Ballinrobe tomorrow? How bad are the roads?

  • Registered Users Posts: 81 ✭✭davemc6832

My girlfriend drove from Rathgar to Letterkenny earlier today. Took her 5 and a 1/2 hours. Normally takes about 3 1/2. She said it wasn't too bad, just slow moving. Although they're made of tough stuff up north

Woohoo - my sister is in the air on the way from Heathrow - after 3 cancellations and about half a dozen delays! :D

Seeing as how the weather has gone a bit quiet and this one is over 10,000 posts, could someone maybe start a new Christmas Weather Chat thread?

The shins you say? How high would you estimate it is, to the nearest foot? :D

All joking aside, Have I been a moron all these years thinking the shin is the front of the leg from the ankle to the knee?? Cause if thats the case you've just told us the depth of snow is anywhere between ankle and knee height and depending on how tall you are and your body proportions, you've basically told us the snow was between 3 and 23 inches!! :D

    Alright there, smart arse! :)

It's above ankle height. But definitely below knee height. :D
Differs slightly from area to area but it's 5-7 inches generally.

I've just checked the Live departures site and flights have left over the past few minutes so looks like the airport is still open.
