    Lightning almost due overhead, D2.

Am in d13 and it seemed to be overhead here, too! MASSIVE multiple flash and thunderroll right on top of it. Hope there were no aircraft anywhere near that one...

It's the first time I've seen lightning while proper snow is falling in my entire life, it's always been thunder with hail or "thundergraupel":D

Edit: with the reports, it must have been over the liffey somewhere. out towards the port maybe?

Baraca, those clouds that look heavy passed over me (Boolavogue) about half an hour ago and did not deliver much snow at all. now the sun is out.

Lightning in swords now but has stopped snowing

Vey wet snow in the CC only setting on the lying slush and snow. I gues a little inland its a different story. Major thaw on here.

Have a weather station?, why not join the Ireland Weather Network - http://irelandweather.eu/

This is bordering on the insane now. Intense snow in Dublin along with the thunder and lightning. The sky is so dark in the City Centre right now that it is hard to imagine it lifting any time soon at all.

Not a great deal of sticking though given the intensity of the snow.

We may get some snow here soon, it's starting to cloud over......

I am in dublin city and there has been no thaw here, its not thawing if it lands on salt. The reason it appears to be thawing for many in the city is because of salt and grit on the ground. I am in Dublin 8, near Thomas Street and there does not appear to have been any thaw here ? certainly not now with the snow lashing down.

Its 0 degrees outside so hard to believe it could thaw to be honest

Think the latest stuff is skirting us to the south here. Interesting day so far though, on and off snowing most of the time. Very glad my brother got home yesterday.

Should stop in about 15 minutes for a while, then bring on more about an hour later

I don't know what it is like out at the airport but if it is being hit by the same stuff as we are in D2 it will close.
