does anyone know if waterford will get any snow?

Waterford will not be getting snow, next up rain on St. Stephens day.
Enjoy the dry weather until then.

M1 Northbound out of city and up to Donabate turn off has stopped moving, literally.

People are out of their cars talking to each other.

This is all happening at the wrong time.

We have our extra milk and beer outside the back door. Colder than what the fridge could do.

The snow in Dublin will move inland to North Kildare I'm guessing..

All my relations and neighbours from back home in south Louth do not remember 1982 as being particularly bad. I was talking with some of them recently after the foot or so of snow in the area. They all separately said the 1978/1979 winter was much worse, and which ended up with a hefty snowstorm on St. Patrick's day 1979.

Yes but Dublin got massive snow ..metres of it in drifts even in the city centre. Dublin airport reported 27 inches or over nearly 60 cm of actual snowfall. Other counties of leinster were a lot less affected. Wicklow got hammered also. :D:D:D:D This snowfall albeit very substantial is NOTHING like 1982. No county in ireland has ever got anything like what Dublin got then and that is still the case. Records speak for themselves

Currently, Killygordon in Co. Donegal is -13.7°C

Dublin Airport at 0.5°C is sounding tropical

    Confusion out there.

Plenty of holding aircraft who will have to divert shortly if not allowed to land

Snowing heavily at Dublin airport now.

Still going and going. Very weird how the irish sea goes. Sometimes after dark it goes off like a tap, today, not so much. I don't envy the met's job at the minute.

How come it is always Dublin/Wicklow that gets these severe snowstorms, rare enough as they are???:):):):) Crazy. Go south for a change..

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,398 ✭✭✭dfbemt

    No

Man, the weather forecasts are MTC. Well worth reading if you get a chance.

Much more detail than Met Eireann..... and more accurate.
