So glad leahyl is getting snow in Cork, have never seen anyone who wanted it as badly! Good for you.
Still snowing nicely in Craughwell, about to put on the boots and head out for a little play.:)

is it to snow all night can anyone tell me? or just much later on?
I cant see much happening in the Dublin area tonight. The showers are are all dying out before they get anywhere near Dublin, I've seen it a million times before with a N'ly/NW'ly. All these predictions of polar lows were wildly exaggerated as well.
All the really heavy stuff is to the north of Scotland unfortunately.

The most pitifully weak snow ever is falling in Clondalkin/Lucan right now. However, every single little flake of it is sticking, so the ground is actually turning white. Some of Dublin is definitely getting snow :D

UPDATE FROM M.T. he will have a forcast on the main forcast thread soon (remember dont post there)

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055579971&page=124

Looks to me at present that the feature moving south into Ulster is the reflection of the polar vortex and should move generally SSE then SE next 12 to 18 hours. This should bring in a period of accumulating snow to the east and southeast. Will be somewhat conservative on the update for amounts with this (in those regions). The activity still moving in from the west may become steady-state, weaken a bit, then redevelop tomorrow as the PV arrives and begins to split in terms of upper and surface features.
