Orange light over Galway city 8pm 15-Dec-10

I was coming out of B&Q at 8pm last night [Wed, 15-Dec-10], I noticed an orange light hovering simialr to a helicopter over Galway bay. I was driving and kept watching it as i drove on the western distributor road. It seems to hover at helicopter height ... must ahve been ~3 - 5km away (I think). There were no flashing…

There were no flashing red/white lights that helicopters have. The orange glow was like a fire. I don't think it was a chinese latern. 3 mins later i reached my house, and it was gone.
anyone else see this?
any ideas what it may ahve been?

It disappeared because it burnt out or was blown out
