So a few crocodile tears on youtube gets you to meet your hero?

Time for a home made video I think.

I reckon one of the parents put her up to it. :)

I think it's genuine from the kids point of view. The Dad is a blogger I think, so he was seeing this as an opportunity!

Somehow I think it has more of an effect when you're a 4 year old girl and not a 24 year old man.

I'll be honest; I think people would just laugh at you wanting to meet yourself Xavi. Even moreso when they see you crying like a little sissy about it.

Maybe it was genuine on Xavi's part... but I'm cynical and I reckon he knew damn well that you cannot buy P.R. like that!

    Why does Xavi need P.R.?

I agree, if it was Beckham or some media whore like him I would think it was for PR but not Xavi.

Above all, it's interesting that Xavi, of all the Spanish players, is her favorite. Even at such a young age, she must really appreciate fantastic passing. Or maybe she thinks he's one of Santa's elves.

    Have to agree.

Maybe I've been fooled with everyone else, but footballers like Xavi and the likes of Del Piero genuinely do come across as decent people.

Does no one else find it odd that a little girl with a seemingly Dutch/Scandinavian name idolises a Spanish footballer and speaks to her father in English? Maybe I'm just ignorant but something doesn't add up there.

You know what they say - if you can fake sincerity you've got it made!

She clearly speaks both English and Spanish/Catalan.

When does voting for the Ballon d'Or commence again?

I don't think she speaks Catalan, the presenter talks to her in Spanish but to the audience in Catalan.

It was also quite funny that they gave her a Barca shirt, and not a Spain shirt, despite the fact that she was at the Spanish teams homecoming!

She must have Barca in her DNA.

Yeah, that's what I thought but I wasn't sure. Anyway, I'm guessing she lives in Spain with one Spanish parent and one English-speaking parent, or something like that.

well she is as blonde as the swedish girls you see many times...:rolleyes:

spanish also have 'some' blondes like that but pretty scarce.

mixed mammy and daddy one thinks but a nice gesture for Xavi all the same.
