Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Jensen leaves Gold for Smooth

David Jensen is joining Smooth Radio in the New Year to present the weekday afternoon show.

He's currently on mid-mornings at Global station Gold and will join Simon Bates as part of the new Smooth line-up for 2011.

David will host his weekday show from Smooth Radio’s Manchester studios and replaces Dave Lincoln in the 1-4pm slot.

David says: "I'm delighted to be joining Smooth Radio. It’s a great listen and I’ll be joining some of the best broadcasters in the business."

The weekday line up will see current Classic FM presenter Simon Bates on breakfast, followed by Mark Goodier, David Jensen, Carlos and Andy Peebles.

Jensen - known as 'The Kid' - was inducted into the Radio Academy Hall of Fame in October this year, and has had a long career in UK radio, notably at Radio 1, Capital FM, Heart 106.2 and Gold. He was also the host of the Nescafe Network Chart Show on commercial radio.

GMG Radio's Group Programme Director John Simons said "When you get the opportunity to sign a talent like David there is only one answer. His experience and affinity with our audience fits perfectly into our stellar line-up of presenters. I’m delighted he will be joining us in the New Year."

Smooth Radio Brand Managing Director Andy Carter added: "David is a fantastic signing for the Smooth Radio brand. Our soulful music is king on Smooth Radio but our line-up of talented presenters from Simon Bates, Mark Goodier, now David Jenson, and Carlos on Drivetime, make the station a compelling listen to its target audience."

Smooth Radio became the UK’s second largest commercial radio station when it began broadcasting nationally via a number of platforms on October 4th, including on Digital 1, and latest figures show the Smooth brand has an audience of 3 million listeners a week. It broadcasts on six FM frequencies around the UK - London, East Midlands, West Midlands, North West, North East and Glasgow. The five English stations share the same programmes, with local opt outs on the Glasgow service. The merging of the regional stations was made possible following the changes introduced by the Digital Economy Act earlier this year.

Except for Carlos who I don't know of, thats sounds like a great line up. Happy memories of 275 285 BBC Radio 1 in the late 70's 80's, those were different days.:):):)
