Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Heard a thumping sound coming from the far end of the house a few mins ago and it put my heart crossways. The dogs started barking, tore out of the living room and through the kitchen. 2 went down the hall towards my bedroom and the older rottie tried to break dwon the door to get outside.
Nothing amiss in my bedroom so I went outside to check with the flashlight.
The gable end ridge tile has been blown off by the wind and slid down the roof.
Thankfully it didn't fall on youngest son's car.

Half a roof missing on one shed, guttering blown off another
Two roofs blown off in the neighbours, galvanise sheets at far end of field up against ditch

I actually love the snow, it brings out the child in me. Although I don't like severe frosts when the pipes get frozen for days.

Was so windy in Leitrim this morning, I opened my bedroom window and the cat was blown in and two doors slammed down the hallway!

heard a fella on local radio a while back giving out yards over the script writer, he was reading out the forecast and it went like this,
there is a risk of a gale force BREEZE along the south coast today,
he stopped at that and started what idiot wrote this rubbish, gale force breeze

It hit 16 degrees with sun in Limerick today, mad country it's like yesterday never happened!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,617 ✭✭✭Mehaffey1

Looking at thirty degrees by 1pm, doesn't make the idea of milking any more appealing. Warm northerly gusts as well, not much moisture about at all.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,859 ✭✭✭✭whelan2

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,170 ✭✭✭WheatenBriar

    Recorded 49mm here since midnight
Lots of brooks everywhere have burst their banks
3 minor roads near me are blocked at bridges
Some fields are under a few feet of water, they are lakes

Expecting 27 degrees today without much wind.

Looking at maybe shortening breakfasts to get back on the farm before the peak sun hits on so all the breaks, stock work and effluent gets done more comfortably.
